Remnant Fellowship (RF) was established to address the need for fellowship, spiritual learning and guidance of the demographic in Council Bluffs often marginalized and not comfortable attending what may be considered a “traditional” church. As such, RF plays an integral role in the Remnant Discipleship Center (RDC)—a faith-based program requiring strict adherence, accountability and study—focused on the behavioral transformation needed for men and women recently released from incarceration to reenter the community as productive citizens.
Program Requirements include but are not limited to:
○ Participants must be committed to change and to the work involved on the road to transformation. Participants are required to have a full-time job. Pastor Bostwick and staff have built relationships with Uptown Staffing as well as area Christian business men and women to accommodate this requirement. Each resident must also attend Remnant Fellowship every Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. which consists of praise and worship, Bible study teaching and fellowship. Residents are required to assist in set-up and clean-up prior to and following each service
○ Participants that can apply must be either be in prison/jail or have successfully completed another accredited program.
○ Applicants must be sober upon entry into the Remnant Lighthouse and be able to pay a 00 sobriety deposit which will be returned upon successful completion of the program.
○ Each individualized program lasts from 6 to 12 months. Program curriculum consists of daily Bible study, participation in several classes including “Overcomers”. Additional courses include those approved first by Remnant Administration.
○ Extensive mentoring and accountability are imperative to success for participants.
○ Residents are also required to abide by the rules associated with parole. In that regard, RDC has developed positive relationships within the 4th Judicial District Department of Corrections (DOC). The 4th Judicial District (DOC) has endorsed the RDC and works closely with RDC leadership to ensure accountability of residents.
